Merry Christmas!

And so it was this time of the year again. The much-awaited school holidays started some days ago, and yesterday I celebrated Christmas with my family. Too bad we didn’t get any snow here in Lillehammer in time for Christmas, but we had a nice time regardless.

Laptops at videregående

I’m now done with the first two weeks at Lillehammer Videregående Skole, and I thought I’d write a bit about the use of laptops there.

Finally got a tablet PC!

As all first grade students at Lillehammer Videregående Skole are required to have laptops, I’ve been looking for a good deal for tablet PCs. I found a pretty great offer at Stretto, a Tecra M4 for 9885 kr. It’s got a 1.7 GHz processor, 512 MB of RAM, a 60 GB harddrive, a NVIDIA GeForce Go 6200 graphics card with 64 MB of memory, and a 14.1″ SXGA+ screen (a resolution of 1400×1050). I ordered it on Sunday, and it arrived at our door two days later.

LAN at Høgskolen i Lillehammer

For the last seven years or so, students from the Child Welfare Work Studies at Høgskolen i Lillehammer (Lillehammer University College) have had responsibility for all the pupils at my school for two days. During these two days, the students set up lots of different activities we can sign up to. This year, one of the choices was LAN, in a building at the HiL campus.

Easter

Today we finally finished the last tentam at school, and the Easter holiday has now started. I’m attending The Gathering this year, so I’ll spend most of the Easter in Vikingskipet with 5500 other geeks.
