MSN Messenger whores

This is a really old entry — I will no longer vouch for its sanity. :)

I just stubled over this, a kind of MSN Messenger agreement thingy, and I must say I can’t agree more.

MSN Messenger can be a great tool when used right. If you have it launch automatically when Windows boots, it can be a very quick and convenient way for people to get in touch with you. If you want to drop a quick note to someone it’s just a matter of clicking some buttons. Add all your friends to your IM list and have it all kept in a nice little window.

On the other hand you have all those who only use their computers for MSN Messenger. They’re only logged on while they’re sitting there to chat, and assume that all of us others are too. As soon as they get in they start nagging you.

It’s not like they have anything important to tell you either. In most cases they just about manage say “hello” before they sign off again. Oh wait, excuse me. It’s more like “HeLlLlLoOOO!!! :D :D :D :D :D ehehhe…. :D “.

It’s not that easy to recognize who they are at first either. Really, how much do the nickname “(L)(8)LaDy PiNk(8)(L) WoooHOoo, 15 days to your bday Suzie! :D :D (L)(L) lOVe you AllL!! … :D (L) (*)(*)HapPy GirL ;) ;) ” tell you?

Let’s thank god we still have a Block button…

    En grei måte å unngå alle de stygge smiliene er å bruk gaim og rettogslett slå dem av. Vanskligere er det ikke. De finnes også en Norsk underskriftsliste mot ‘fjortiss-msn-nicks’. Er det noe jeg hater så er det når jeg ikke kan se forsjellen på nick og melding…

    Kanskje vi alle burde begynne å bruke jabber? Der er det ikke så mange fjortisser :P
