April Fools Day
This is a really old entry — I will no longer vouch for its sanity.
Ok, so this April Fools Day thing was funny three years ago. Not anymore. I read Slashdot daily, and I’m outright amazed by their futile attempts. Just look at some of today’s headlines:
- GeNToo - Gentoo on the NT Kernel
- Microsoft Porting SQL Server To New Platforms
- Google Moves Into Drink Market
- First PC Virus Spreads to Humans
- Tiger Woods Signs Deal To Be Apple Spokeperson
- Platform-Independent Real-Time Speech Technology
- iCopulate Romances iPods, Executive Pong
- Scientific American Gives Up
- Paris Hilton Recruited to Publicize Linux
- Britannica Takes Over the Wikimedia Foundation
- Say ‘Cheese’ to Google Satellite at 10AM
- RFC On New Internet Routing Protocol
- Man Sells Baby to Pay for Gadgets
So umm, let’s see… 13 attempts to be funny. All of them failed. I’m already looking forward to tomorrow.

It really depends how high you value it. When you fool someone well, it’s a great lot of fun.
